An air quality sensor is an electronic device that detects accurate temperature or humidity present in the environment and converts that result into measurable electrical signals. This system is available on the market in several sizes and different specialty functions. Some of these systems can be handheld and operated on a smaller scale, while others can be applicable to large embedded systems such as air quality monitoring systems. Air quality monitoring systems have many applications in different industries like meteorology, automobiles, medicine, and other industrial applications like production. The quality and performance of these sensors are hugely dependent upon their microscopic structures, like the thickness of the layer, its pore size, electrode distance, and the size distribution of the surface structural element. Humidity or air quality monitoring systems must fulfill some requirements like repeatability, linearity, low hysteresis, stability, fast response recovery speed, low cost, and ease of connection that further control units. Hence, major sensors are designed to meet these specifications.
Single spatial readings of relative humidity are provided by point humidity sensors, which are the most common type of sensor owing to their simplicity, high sensitivity, and relatively low cost. These sensors are available in a variety of forms and sensing mechanisms for different applications, fuelling market growth.
